Americans: Some information for you
Below is a message from Cassondra Helm, the volunteer warden serving Hohhot.
Tyler Beebout, one of the American Citizen Services officers from the Embassy in Beijing, will be here in Hohhot on Friday and wanted to extend an offer to meet with any American Citizens in the area. There is not a venue as of yet, but he is looking at a few hours in the early afternoon, where he can discuss services, and answer any questions.
Also, I am encouraging all American Citizens to register with the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). STEP is a free service to allow U.S. citizens and nationals traveling or living abroad to enroll with the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate. After enrollment, you will receive important information from the Embassy about safety conditions in the destination country, helping you make informed decisions about your travel plans. Also, enrolling will allow the U.S. Embassy to contact you in an emergency, whether natural disaster, civil unrest, or family emergency. Further, it helps family and friends get in touch with you in an emergency. You can easily register for STEP online at https://step.state.gov/step/. If you have any questions, you can contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
